GUYANA: Pakistan took earlier wicket of Smith bold by Hafeez (25/1 after 17 overs) as visitors were asked to Bat first vs West Indies in their first test against West Indies here after winning the one-day international series 3-2.
Today Pakistan handed a Test cap to wicket-keeper Mohammad Salman as he replaces Adnan Akmal in the Test squad, having earlier replaced the elder Akmal, Kamran, in the limited-overs squad.
Led by Misbah-ul-Haq, Pakistan have picked two spinners in Saeed Ajmal and Abdur Reham, while Umar Gul and Wahab Riaz are the two pacers.
The visitors elected to pack their batting line up instead of relying on a fifth full-time bowler but will miss the services of experiences batsman Younis Khan, who returned home after the death of his brother.
Meanwhile, leg-break bowler Devendra Bishoo will make his Test debut for the West Indies as Fidel Edwards has not been picked for the playing eleven and Shivnarine Chanderpaul returns after being dropped for the ODI series.
