Chennai : England has survived in world cup cricket by winning a thriller vs West Indies. Earlier England won the toss and choose to bat first and were all out on 243 in 48.4 overs.
West Indies innings was swinging through out and at one stage west indies needed 22 runs from 8 overs with 4 wickets in hand but were all out to add only 2 runs in the total. England won the match by 19 runs and qualified for quarter final dashing the hopes of Bangladesh , who, otherwise would have qualified for the world cup.
