The Governor of Khyber Pakhtonkhwa accuses US over civilian deaths




ISLAMABAD: The provincial governor of Khyber Pakhtonkhuwa in Pakistan has accused the United States of killing civilians and police officers in a drone strike in the troubled tribal region, a statement said.

According to him two drones strikes earlier today were targeted on a tribal Jirga where hundred were gathered to attend and listen tribal leaders and killed dozens including Tribal leaders, police men, women and children.


In his strong protest he said that,

“I strongly condemn this drone attack. A tribal jirga (council) was targeted in which several tribal elders and tribal policemen were martyred,”said Syed Masood Kausar, the federal representative of northwestern Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province.

“We want to make it clear that the government of Pakistan and its people will not tolerate such attacks.
These attacks are against the sovereignty of Pakistan,” the statement added.
