Ramazan moon sighted in cities across Pakistan



KARACHI: The Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee announced on Monday that the moon of the holy month of Ramazan-ul- Mubarak has been sighted in the country.

The announcement was made by Chairman of the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee, Mufti Munib-ur-Rehman, after chairing the meeting of the committee held at Met Office in Karachi on Monday.

He announced that Ramazan-ul-Mubarak 1, 1432 Hijri, will fall on August 2, 2011 (Tuesday).

The meeting was attended by Members of the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee Maulana Anwar-ul- Haq, Mufti Abdul Qavi, Maulana Ubaidullah Panhwer, Maulana Shabbir Ahmed, Qazi Niaz Hussain.

Members of the Zonal Ruet-i-Hilal Committee Karachi Mufti Syed Sabir Hussain, Maulana Sabir Noorani, Maulana Munir Ahmed Tariq, Maulana Nazir Ahmed, Hafiz Ahmed Sulfi, Maulana Asad Deobandi, Official of the Met Office Naeem Shah and others also attended the meeting.

Speaking on the occasion, Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman said the confirmations of moon sighting were received from many parts of the country including Karachi, Islamabad, Wah Cantonment, Batgaram, Rawlakot, Saeedabad, Khipro and Sahiwal.

He said many offices of the Meteorological Department also confirmed sighting of the moon of Ramazan-ul-Mubarak.
