Edinburgh : Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall got married this saturday, the wedding party that gathered outside the 17th-century Canongate Kirk on the cobbled Royal Mile marking second of its kind this year.
Zara Phillips, the 30-year-old bride, dazzled the onlookers, however, when she arrived traditionally late, at 3.05pm, for her wedding to the England rugby star Mike Tindall, 32.
The Queen's granddaughter wore a stunning ivory gown, by the designer Stewart Parvin, with a full cathedral-length silk tulle veil and flowers by the London florist Paul Thomas. Her shoes were from Jimmy Choo.
On loan from her mother was the Greek Key tiara, once owned by Princess Alice of Battenburg, the mother of Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh.
Miss Phillips, who has announced that she will retain her maiden name after the marriage for sporting and commercial reasons, left the Palace of Holyroodhouse (a mere 350 yards from the kirk), in a Bentley with her proud father Captain Mark Phillips by her side
