Dir, Pakistan: The Pakistani Taliban asserted responsibility Friday for a cross-border attack on a security check post according to Reuters this appeared to signal that the group is Nurtured and Backed by some foreign hand in carrying out large-scale attacks on government and army targets from Nato controlled Afghanistan.
Twenty-seven Pakistanis were killed and 45 militants died in the clashes when some unknown people from Afghanistan attacked Pakistan check post, according to Pakistani security officials.
“Up to 40 to 50 of our fighters took part in the operation,” Ehsanullah Ashen, spokesman for the Tehrik-i-Taliban, or Taliban Movement of Pakistan, told Reuters on telephone from an undisclosed location. “None of our fighters were killed.”
The TTP has previously brought fighters from across the border from Afghanistan, where it has allies, to attack Pakistani security forces, claims Washington Post.But the Post failed to clarify which allies are supporting TTP in Afghanistan to attack on Pakistan.
