Tripoli : NATO has targeted, according to Libyan government spokesman, Gaddafi and his family, killing Gaddafi's youngest son and three grandsons.
The Western alliance, which is conducting air strikes to protect civilians during an anti-Gaddafi rebellion, confirmed one of its targets included a command centre in the Tripoli neighbourhood late on Saturday in which the Libyan spokesman said Gaddafi and his family was targeted.
NATO’s commander of Libya operations, Canadian Lieutenant-General Charles Bouchard, said the target was part of a strategy to damage Gaddafi’s ability to plan and conduct attacks on civilians.
On Saturday, the alliance dismissed an offer of a truce and negotiations from Gaddafi, saying it was not credible and reiterating its stance that it will target his military equipment and facilities while civilians are being threatened.
NATO has been in command of Western military operations in Libya for a month, fulfilling a UN mandate to enforce a no-fly zone over the North African country and an arms embargo.Its strikes on Gaddafi’s firepower have helped rebel forces but failed to tip the balance in a bloody civil war.
Now its on UN to decide whether NATO is voilating the UN resolution by attacking on Gaddafi family and killing women and children.
Nato has previously attacked three times on Libyan rebels mistakenly taken as Libyan ground forces. The question arrises that if Nato has the mandate only to observe "NO FLY ZONE" over Libya and protect the civilians what does this has to do with attacking Tripoli ground targets.
It seems that Nato has gone for all out war against the Libyan regime and one can ask what is difference between all out war and simply observing 'No Fly Zone' .as Nato has already passed the lines.
(a) Nato has ground troops inside Libya with the job to train, assist the rebels.
(b) Nato is providing the rebels ammunition and other aid.
(c) Nato is looting the oil from Libyan rebel held cities.
(d) Nato is targeting all of the major cities of Libya where there is no rebel movement.
On the other hand Libyan rebels can be compared with rebel movement like in Chechniya, Indian Kashmir etc. so why UN resolutions on Kashmir are not implemented by force like Libya and why Indian forces are not bombed like Libyan forces. The answer is that west has nothing to do with the protection of civilians it has its own motives and aims.

Why Western allies are not protecting Palestinian civilians both Christians and Muslims from daily Israeli bombardments, Missile attacks siege and sanctions. Why they were put in a Huge Jail like Gaza and West Bank where in Gaza they have no access to Border except of Israel and Egypt, which were kept close through out the years and even world community wanted to help them in the form of 'Freedom Flotilla' they were attacked by Israel. The UN has many resolutions against the Israeli atrocities and hundreds of them are vetoed by US, France and UK freedom lovers.

Why America is so curious to investigate the Mumbai attacks but not interested in the Israeli attacks over Freedom Flotilla in which many people including European and US citizens were killed.
This only shows double standard of West and its servant UN and their priority list is base on their own interest. Where were Nato and US when Serbs were butchering thousands of Bosnian Muslims even in UN and US run camps. The World was watching them sanctioning both weapon less Bosnians and Weapon full Serbs. Why they acted very late only to ensure that millions of Muslims were killed, women raped and children went missing.
I think this move, to occupy Libya, was put in and planned by western governments to put at halt the natural movement of Arab awakening and has caused severe damage and harmed the freedom movements because the both previous movements were against the governments which were pro-west and if they would have gone natural way, we would have seen, until now, Yemen, Libya, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Kuwait, Iraq and other Arab regimes would have fallen.
This Libyan rebel movement caused a severe damage to all such peaceful movements, (its seems West don't like Peaceful movements) that these movements have vitally been dead are grown a very slow pace so that the regimes has got preventive measures and are in the position to stop these movements with different tactics thanks to western intervention in Libya. Whether Libyan rebels are victorious or defeated they have made all other movements 'Suspicious' and Virtually dead.
