ISLAMABAD: Senator John Kerry of United States meets with Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani.
Earlier today, Kerry held meetings with Finance Minister Abdul Hafeez Sheikh and former foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi.
Kerry and Hafeez Sheikh discussed matters of mutual interests with special reference to economic relations between the two countries.
Hafeez Sheikh briefed Kerry about the economic reforms initiated by the government for the stability of national economy, economic growth and socio-economic development of the country.
Kerry appreciated the government’s economic policies and assured that the US would support Pakistan for the welfare of the Pakistani people.
Kerry also reiterated the United States’ demand to release Raymond Davis, who shot and killed two Pakistani men in Lahore last month.
Kerry was also likely to meet with Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz chief Nawaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Kayani.
