TPS Bill for Pakistanis tabled in US congress


WASHINGTON: Temporary Protection Status (TPS) Bill for illegal Pakistani immigrants in US has been tabled in US Congress on Sunday, Geo News reported.

L. Green – the congressman of Democratic Party who hailed from state Texas – presented the TPS Bill in US Congress.

An identical bill was also presented before US Congress in December 2010. The TPS Bill was prepared by Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, Congressman L. Green along with eight other members of US Congress.

The bill seeks temporary protection status for illegal Pakistani immigrants in US as according to US constitution, the illegal immigrants can be given temporary protection is US whose country is battling against the natural disaster.

After the passage of the bill in US Congress, the illegal Pakistani immigrants would be able to enjoy temporary residence status is US while the bill will also benefit students and those staying is US on visit visa.
