Election Commission casts doubt over degrees of 298 MPs


ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has cast doubt over the eligibility of 298 parliamentarians who have failed to submit their degrees of Matric and intermediate, Geo News reported on Tuesday.

Spokesman for the EC informed the media here, those MPs who did not submit the degrees included 21 from Senate and 112 from National Assembly, 102 from Punjab Assembly, 10 from Sindh Assembly, and 10 from Balochistan Assembly and 45 from Khyber Pakhtunkwa.

Babar Awan, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Qamar Zaman Kaira, Chaudhary Nisar, Chaudhary Shujaat, Pervez Elahi and others are among the MPs included in the list.

Meanwhile, the degrees of 818 parliamentarians have been approved by the commission.
