A 26-year-old Chinese woman who miraculously survived after falling from a 12 story apartment, faces attempted suicide charges. Zhou Zhi Hui, was trying to escape from an argument with her landlord when she lost grip at the balcony of her flat, The Straits Times reported. Zhou climbed the 12 storey apartment building and as attempts were made to pull her back, she slipped and fell 40 metres but fortunately into a swimming pool.
She has since been arrested for attempted suicide and is out on police bail
"I just wanted to get out of the house by climbing down to the unit below. I never thought of killing myself", Zhou was quoted as saying by the paper.
Zhou arrived in Singapore last month from Shandong to work as a hostess in a bar and karakoe lounge.
Suicide is a crime under Singapore law.
