Pakistan deadliest country for journalists

A press advocacy group says Pakistan was the deadliest country for journalists in 2010, with at least eight members of the media killed in the country in connection with their work.
The Committee to Protect Journalists says in its year-end analysis that the 42 journalists killed worldwide in 2010 was down from the record 72 who were killed in 2009.
Still the group said the number was ”unacceptably high and reflective of the pervasive violence journalists confront.”
The report released Wednesday said six of the journalists killed in Pakistan died in suicide attacks.
It said a greater proportion of journalists was killed in suicide attacks and crossfire while on assignment worldwide in 2010 than in years past. It said Iraq was the second deadliest country for journalists, with four deaths
