Another US drone strike kills eight in North Waziristan


MIRANSHAH: At least eight more people were killed in a new US drone strike on Tuesday in North Waziristan near the Afghan border, the drones fired four missiles targeting a vehicle and an adjacent compound, killing eight people. Two missiles each were fired on the vehicle and the compound.,.

The strike, which was the third since Monday night, took place in New Adda area, 35 kilometres (21 miles) west of Miranshah, the main town in North Waziristan tribal district.

US drones have killed at least 45 people in a day in Pakistan


North Waziristan : US drones have killed at least 45 people mostly suspected militants in North and South waziristan regions adding the highest death toll ever with unmarked unmanned drone attacks. 


The attacks started last night, when remotely piloted drones fired nine missiles into a militant compound and at a vehicle in North Waziristan, killing 25 suspected insurgents, local intelligence officials said.

CIA's fake vaccination programme to get Bin Laden family

London : Guardian newspaper claims that US intelligence (CIA) launched a fake vaccine drive in Pakistani city of Abbottabad to trace Bin Laden family DNA.



The British News Paper further claimed that CIA officials recruited a senior local doctor to organize the campaign after it tracked down a bin Laden courier to what turned out to be the al-Qaida fugitive's compound in the town of Abbottabad.

KABUL: The Taliban claimed responsibility for the assassination of President Hamid Karzai's younger brother on Tuesday, calling it "one of our biggest achievements" in nearly a decade of war.

Taliban spokesman Usuf Ahmadi told AFP by telephone that the group had recently assigned a gunman to kill Ahmed Wali Karzai, a hugely powerful and controversial figure in the Afghan south.

Islamabad : Pakistan could pull back troops deployed at Pak-Afghan border to stop infiltration towards Afghanistan if US continues to stop Military Aid to Pakistan.

The United States Monday said it would hold back $800 million -- a third of nearly $2 billion in security aid to Pakistan -- in a show of displeasure over Pakistan's removal of U.S. military trainers, limits on visas for U.S. personnel and other bilateral irritants.
